Automotive Cybersecurity Talent Development Ecosystem™

A New Talent Ecosystem Takes Shape

Automotive cybersecurity is no longer only an industry challenge—it is a talent, institutional and national capability challenge.

To begin building this ecosystem, leaders from government, academia and the automotive industry came together to explore how institutions, industry expertise and young talent can work together to prepare the workforce for the future of connected and software-defined mobility.

The gathering brought together 97+ senior leaders, including 64 academic leaders—Vice Chancellors, Directors, Deans, Principals, HoDs and professors—alongside senior industry leaders from OEMs and Tier-1 organisations.

National Leadership for a Future-Ready Mobility Ecosystem

The initiative was inaugurated virtually by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Nitin Gadkari emphasised that the increasing integration of software, artificial intelligence, connected technologies and digital systems into modern vehicles has made automotive cybersecurity a critical pillar of safe and reliable mobility.

He highlighted that cybersecurity extends beyond protecting vehicles—it is intrinsically linked to road safety, public safety, national security and consumer confidence.

He stressed the need for stronger collaboration among government, academia, industry and research institutions to build a resilient automotive cybersecurity ecosystem for India.

The Leadership Behind the Conversation

A Leadership Table for a National Talent Challenge

The automotive industry is moving rapidly toward connected, software-defined and increasingly cyber-dependent mobility. Building the talent required for this transition cannot be solved by one sector alone.

The Leadership & Institutional Engagement Meet brought together 97+ senior leaders from across the talent value chain—with 64 leaders from academia, alongside senior representatives from the automotive industry, government and institutional ecosystem.

From Vice Chancellors, Directors, Deans, Principals, HoDs and professors to OEM and Tier-1 leadership, the gathering created a rare platform where those who shape institutions, develop talent, define industry needs and influence the mobility ecosystem could engage around a common challenge.

From Institutions to Industry — Connecting the Talent Value Chain

The objective was not simply to discuss automotive cybersecurity, but to begin connecting the institutions that develop talent with the organisations that will depend on that talent.

The conversation brought together perspectives from policy and certification, academia, industry practice and programme implementation—laying the foundation for a more connected approach to automotive cybersecurity talent development.

A cross-sector leadership gathering bringing academia, government and automotive industry together around the future of cybersecurity talent.
